Your day tour from Marrakech to Ouzoud waterfalls will start with a 3 hours drive north of Marrakech by crossing the Tadla plains with hundreds of olive tree farms, peach, and apricot.
Upon arrival at the village, start your walking journey downhill to the sources while admiring the splendid views of the 110 m high cascades of Ouzoud with a permanent rainbow as a backdrop. En route, some local Barbary apes that do expect some nuts from you will greet you along the way !
Local cafés are available next to the stream for a light lunch and to relax before you walk up to the village and meet your driver to return to Marrakech.
Your day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls will end late in the afternoon in Marrakech with a drop off at your hotel or the nearest accessible point to your riad.
Ouzoud waterfalls are 157,5 Km north –east of Marrakech. The estimated drive via N8 and R208 is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
You can swim (Own discretion) at one of the ponds located at the bottom of Ouzoud waterfalls, provided the currents are ok.
The average temperature in Ouzoud waterfalls is 18 °C. The falls lie 785 m above sea level. Most of the rain happens during winter and rarely during spring. However, summers are relatively dry, with very few summer showers.
Most of the cafes are located along the alleyway leading down to the bottom of Ouzoud Cascades pools. They serve Berber Tagines and Moroccan Salads. Although the setting is very modest and rustic, the views are amazing.
You will easily spot various Barbary macaques during your trek down to the bottom of Ouzoud waterfalls. These monkeys are mainly friendly and approach humans looking to be fed. However, to have significant interaction with them, you can buy some nuts at a local store, and believe me, monkeys love it!
Good and comfortable walking shoes are a must for your Ouzoud falls excursion. A warm waterproof jumper will keep you warm and dry during the winter season. In summer, it will be hot and sunny. Light clothes, a hat, and sunglasses with sunscreen will make you comfortable.
An excellent day tour to do while in Marrakech to see Morocco's tallest waterfall! Our guide and driver were both really nice and pleasant; our guide provided us with useful insights about Ouzoud and was very helpful in navigating the big region. Extremely good value, and I would strongly advise taking a boat ride to properly appreciate the falls much closer.
The day trip was fantastic! The guide was super nice and took us via the village's narrow roads to the waterfall's source. My kid adored being able to play with the monkeys! The mini boat ride was spectacular! It's a destination you should visit at least once in your life.
Despite the fact that the travel was quite long, it was well worth it. Brahim, our guide, took us to an Argan oil cooperative and down to the waterfalls on foot, which provided us with a breathtaking scenery of the waterfalls. Arriving at the bottom, swimming, and a delicious traditional meal at the base of the waterfalls. Wonderful day! Yould definitely recommend
