Spend a lovely day out of Marrakech on a day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls, one of Morocco’s most peculiar and fascinating falls. This Marrakech to Ouzoud falls tour will take you deep into the beautiful Atlas Mountains to show you the highest cascades in North Africa, which rise to 110 meters.
Our day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls starts with a 3-hour drive through the picturesque Atlas Mountains. The falls are located north of Marrakech, in the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the province of Azilal.
On our way to Ouzoud waterfalls, we will drive past vast fields of olive trees, and as we get closer, the falls will become visible from a distance- this view alone is rather spectacular!
When we arrive at Ouzoud falls, you will notice that the walking paths extend up towards the falls and around the water streams below. you can also go for a swim in the natural swimming pools of the Ouzoud Cascade, or if you are brave enough, you can join the locals and jump off the high cliffs into the water.
After a pleasant morning, enjoy a Moroccan lunch at your leisure in one of the local cafes or restaurants situated in the sheltering bosom of the Ouzoud Falls.
Conclude your Marrakech to Ouzoud waterfalls day trip with a drive back to Marrakech, where our driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad.

Ouzoud waterfalls are 157,5 Km North–East of Marrakech. The estimated drive via N8 and R208 is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
You can swim (Own discretion) at one of the ponds located at the bottom of Ouzoud waterfalls, provided the currents are ok.
The average temperature in Ouzoud waterfalls is 18 °C. The falls lie 785 m above sea level. Most of the rain happens during winter and rarely during spring. However, summers are relatively dry, with very few summer showers.
Most of the cafes are located along the alleyway leading down to the bottom of Ouzoud Cascades pools. They serve Berber Tagines and Moroccan Salads. Although the setting is very modest and rustic, the views are amazing.
You will easily spot various Barbary macaques during your trek down to the bottom of Ouzoud waterfalls. These monkeys are mainly friendly and approach humans looking to be fed. However, to have significant interaction with them, you can buy some nuts at a local store, and believe me, monkeys love it!
Good and comfortable walking shoes are a must for your Ouzoud falls excursion. A warm waterproof jumper will keep you warm and dry during the winter season. In summer, it will be hot and sunny. Light clothes, a hat, and sunglasses with sunscreen will make you comfortable.
Our driver arrived on time and in a clean and comfy vehicle to pick us up from our hotel in Marrakech. We were securely transported to Ouzoud Falls, where we met our tour guide. He was a young, energetic man who pointed out birds, frogs, turtles, and, of course, endangered Barbary Macaques when we informed him we were interested in wildlife.
From beginning to end, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Despite the fact that the trip to the falls takes around 3 hours, the pickup and drop off were on time, and the transportation was pleasant and fun. On arrival, we were greeted by an English-speaking guide (Hassan), who was fantastic. He took us on a leisurely trip around the waterfall area, providing us with information that was both instructive and entertaining. The cascade itself is breath-taking, and there are several photo possibilities. Lunch was traditional (tajine, fresh local fruit) and wonderful beside the waterfall. This day excursion to Ouzoud falls is ideal if you want to learn about Morocco's natural beauty while escaping the noise and bustle of Marrakech.
Excellent full-day excursion - the ride took around 3 hours, including a coffee break. Bring your swim trunks, and instead of flip flops, wear some trainers. Beautiful waterfalls in an isolated location with a steep descent to the foot of the falls where you may swim and possibly take a short boat ride. Lunch is available for an extra fee.
