How the Day Unfolds
One day from Marrakech to Casablanca, Morocco's largest city. Art Deco facades, Habous souks, Ain Diab Corniche, Rick's Café, and the Hassan II Mosque over the Atlantic.
Pickup from your Marrakech hotel at 7:00 AM. A comfortable 3-hour highway drive through Morocco's Gharb plains — green farmland, open countryside, and a brief stop to stretch and refresh.
Your licensed local guide meets you in Casablanca. First stop: the Hassan II Mosque. A ~1-hour guided tour of the interior — zellige tilework, cedar carvings, marble floors, the retractable roof, and the hammam beneath. The mosque sits on a platform over the Atlantic Ocean — the sound of waves beneath your feet. Entry: 130 MAD (~€13) on site.
Walk along Casablanca's Atlantic seafront promenade — ocean views, sea breeze, cafés, and the city's cosmopolitan energy. A chance to see the mosque's minaret from across the waterfront — one of the best photo angles.
The "New Medina" — a 1930s quarter blending French and Moroccan design. Traditional souks, famous patisseries, olive oil vendors, and bookshops. Quieter and more navigable than Marrakech's medina, but authentically Moroccan. Your guide knows every corner.
Casablanca's original walled medina — narrow lanes, local life, and vibrant market stalls. A different energy from the Habous — rawer, older, and full of character.
Pass by the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart — a striking French colonial Gothic building now used for cultural events. Continue through Casablanca's Art Deco district — one of the largest concentrations of 1930s Art Deco architecture outside Europe. Admire the facades around Mohammed V Square and the Arab League Park.
Lunch at your leisure (not included). Options: Rick's Café for a cinematic experience, seafood on the Corniche, or something casual in the Habous. Your guide can recommend and arrange.
3-hour drive back via highway. Hotel drop-off by ~7:00 PM. A full day of culture, architecture, and Atlantic coastline — with the evening free in Marrakech.

"Excellent day trip — the highlight was the visit to the Hassan II Mosque. Our guide was very attentive and knowledgeable, which eased my introduction to Casablanca. The Corniche walk was a lovely break, and the Habous Quarter was full of character. Highly recommended."
"Our guide even arranged a stop at Rick's Café for lunch — what a treat! The Art Deco interiors are gorgeous, the food was excellent, and it felt like stepping into the movie. Combined with the Hassan II Mosque in the morning and the Corniche walk afterwards, it was the perfect Casablanca day. The 3-hour drive flew by thanks to our driver's stories about Moroccan life."
