The camp

An ensuite tent at the foot of the highest dunes in Morocco, reached by camel at sunset.

This is a deluxe tented camp set among the great dunes of Erg Chebbi, just outside Merzouga. The tents are spacious and beautifully appointed — plush bedding, soft linens, elegant furnishings — and each has its own ensuite bathroom with hot water: a real bed and a proper bathroom in the heart of the desert.

You reach the camp by camel — the sunset ride sets off from the Palais des Dunes lodge in Merzouga and carries you over the dunes to the camp. There’s a restaurant serving Moroccan cuisine, and after dinner the fire is lit for Berber music and dance beneath the stars, with expert guides leading camel rides into the dunes at sunrise and sunset.
