If you have always been in love with mountains, and want to experience this love on another level, then our 4-day Toubkal Mount winter trek is what you are looking for. Climbing Toubkal mount is not a walk in the park, but it is not also a high-profiled mountain climb that requires only professionals. It is something in between, meaning that you should only be reasonably fit and have enough determination to make your hike to the summit possible. However, climbing Toubkal in winter will need special mountaineering tools, such as walking poles, ice axes, and crampons.

Leave the chaotic streets of Marrakech and head to the mountain village Imlil in a 90 min drive. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
You will meet your guide in Imlil, where your adventure will begin.
You will follow the path uphill in a serious hike crossing the Mizane Valley, then towards the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. The latter is a convenient halfway point to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch.
The final hours of the hike will take us to the Toubkal refuge, where we will spend the night. The refuge is pretty basic and covers your necessities. It has a lounge area with a fireplace and a heater to warm you up. There are toilets and hot showers. Overall the refuge is clean and well kept.
Today, we will target the Ouanoukrim twins, the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in the High Atlas. They both stand at the head of Mizan Valley. The trek to the twins will not only be culminated with a stunning view of the Toubkal mount, but it will also test your legs and prepare your body for the big hike. We head back to the Refuge for lunch.
Today is the day! We wake up early and start climbing the Toubkal mount. The time for the ascent during the winter season is around 3 to 4 hours.
The path rises steeply as we continue our hike steadily. Our professional guides will help you navigate safer routes to the summit.
You will begin feeling footsore and exhausted, but the view from the summit is magical and worth the pain you are feeling.
Peaks and snowbound valleys will make themselves visible to you as you stretch your eyes North and South, contemplating the Atlas Mountain Range and the whole of Morocco! Then, finally, we will retrace our way back to the refuge.
After breakfast in the refuge, you will prepare yourself you get back to Marrakech via Imlil.

Unlike many trekking destinations globally, you can enjoy hiking in Morocco all year long. However, in the snowy winter season, minimum trekking skills are required.
Hiring a registered local trekking guide to hike Mount Toubkal is now compulsory. There is a checkpoint in Aroumd Village where everyone climbing Jbel Toubkal needs to be registered, and you will not be allowed to go beyond that checkpoint unless a local guide is leading your way. So do not forget to bring your ID for registration purposes.
Most people who are in good shape can climb Mount Toubkal easily. However, the snowy winter season requires a minimum of hiking skills.
The Atlas Mountains temperature in the winter can plummet below freezing falling as low as -20 Celsius (4 degrees Fahrenheit).
