We had an incredible experience with this private trek! Our journey began in Imlil, guided by Mohamed, and accompanied by Ali, our chef. Ali did an outstanding job preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with tea. The meals were not only abundant but also featured delicious traditional dishes. The first day posed a bit of a challenge due to the sun’s intensity, but it was definitely manageable. For convenience, you could offload some bags onto a mule, which Ali would take along to the basecamp. Along the way, there were a few stops where you could purchase refreshments like orange juice and soda. After about 4-5 hours of hiking (including breaks), we reached our overnight stay at the basecamp. Accommodation was in shared rooms, although private rooms were available at a higher cost. Following dinner, we had a pleasant conversation with Ali, who turned out to be a really friendly guy! We inquired about watching the sunrise from the summit the next morning, and Ali readily agreed. Day 2 commenced in the dark, and unfortunately, my headlight stopped working after about an hour of walking. In a generous gesture, Ali lent me his lamp, ensuring our journey continued smoothly. The final stretch required some climbing skills as it was steep, but it was by no means insurmountable or perilous. We actually reached Toubkal summit as the first group that day, and the experience was nothing short of breathtaking and unforgettable. I want to extend my gratitude to Ali for his attentive care and valuable assistance that made this trip truly exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend this adventure to everyone – it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
I had an amazing time during the two-day Toubkal tour! I had the privilege of having a personal guide named Larbi. Let me tell you, Larbi was not only really skilled at guiding but also super friendly. He made it his mission to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire climb. What I really appreciated was LArbi’s knack for setting a pace that suited me, taking regular breaks so I didn’t feel overwhelmed. He’s quite the expert on the region and its nature, sharing fascinating insights as we went along. The whole experience was truly fantastic, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. We savored authentic lunches and dinners that added a wonderful local touch, and spending a night at the Refuge Camp was quite an adventure. The trek to the camp was pretty hot, but as you ascend the mountain, the temperature drops significantly, and it can get pretty chilly and windy. That’s why having the right gear is absolutely essential.
I had the most incredible experience! The scenery was absolutely stunning, and our guides, Omar and Ahmed, were so friendly and organized. The food was delicious, and the accommodations at the refuge were comfortable. Plus, I had the chance to make some wonderful new friends during the journey. I can’t recommend this enough – it’s a must-do!
We recently finished the trek to the summit of Mount Toubkal, and it was a truly delightful adventure from start to finish. Our guide, Mohamed, was outstanding. His expertise about the mountain and his thoughtful approach added to the enjoyment of our journey. Despite the winter conditions making it more challenging compared to other times of the year, Mohamed led our small group with care and ensured our safety all the way to the summit. It was an incredible experience to witness the sunrise from the peak. I highly recommend this trek, especially for those seeking a unique and memorable adventure.
Our entire experience was absolutely exceptional, from the warmth and kindness of the Berber people we encountered, to the welcoming hospitality of the refuge staff. However, the standout highlight was undoubtedly Mohamed, our remarkable guide. His deep knowledge of the mountain and the trails winding through the foothills was truly outstanding. He struck a perfect balance between maintaining an invigorating pace and allowing us to take breaks when needed. If you’re in search of a good mountain adventure, look no further than Jebel Toubkal, and make sure to have Mohamed as your guide. One crucial point to note: While many online sources might label Toubkal as an easy climb, it’s important to recognize that the level of fitness required for a two-day expedition should not be underestimated. While the technical aspects might be manageable, the physical demands are significant. You’ll be hiking continuously uphill, exposed to the sun, covering nearly six miles on the first day alone. The next morning, you’ll rise at 4:00 a.m. and trek almost three miles to reach the summit. And that’s followed by an immediate return journey of those same nine miles in the afternoon, back to Imlil for your ride to Marrakech. Do not overlook the strenuous nature of this climb. However, if you’re in good shape and excited about conquering the tallest peak in Morocco, I strongly urge you to book this tour as soon as possible!
